Love, Splat...NYT Bestseller...Good kitty!

Heard just last week that Love, Splat has joined Splat the Cat as a New York Times Bestseller! I've got a smile on my face that refuses to go away. Go Splat!

My grandma "Nina" just read "Love, Splat" to me and I really LOVED it! My favorite part was when Splat and Kitten bumped into each other. Next time I go to the library, I am going to look for more Splat books. Your friend, Sierra

Hi my name is Mark Farrell

I have read two of your books Russel the Sheep and Splat the Cat and I loved them. Especially the illustrations they are so rich in colour and style.

I really enjoy illustration, I would like to maybe one dy write some stories of my own and see if they might possibly be published.

I know you probably get asked this thousands of time, but I was wondering if you may have any advice to offer for someone who would be interested in writing and illustrating their own stories, any advice to can offer would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

What a lovely book and we're promoting this book like mad at the library I work at (Howard County Library). I would be very interested in talking with you about your artistry and the nitty gritty with all the tech geeky stuff to make your illustrations pop! best, JP

Rob,

My son loves Russell the Sheep and has one of the stuffed sheep from a book reading. He takes it everwhere, and it's starting to fall apart. Do you know where I can get another one?

Thanks, Paula

Hello. I am writing on behalf of my daughter, Avery. We bought Russell the Sheep for her before she was born. I thought it was a great story and I loved the pictures. Now, 2 1/2 years later, she is reading the book right along with me. It's so cute to hear her repeat the story, especially things like "...he decided, and went for a walk" and, "What's a sheep to do???" Reading Russell is such a treasured time we have together. Recently, we bought her Splat the Cat, and it was only a few weeks into it when she began remembering and repeating the words in that one, too. She now recognizes some words like "Mom" and "Stop". Of course, her favorite part is where one of the cats is holding a Russell the sheep doll. I am writing for a few reasons, one, to say THANK YOU for being such a great writer! Two: to ask if you are going to be in our area (northwestern pennsylvania, usa) by chance for any book signings? I would absolutely love to get a signed copy of Russell's Christmas story, or Russell's Treasure book for my daughter. I know she would be just thrilled to have a signed copy!!! And lastly, I read another comment on your blog, and I see where someone has a stuffed animal of Russell - where on earth can I get one of those????? I know she'd love to see that on Christmas morning!!! Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I am looking forward to hearing back from you if you have time. I can't wait to get another Russell or Splat book and share the crazy adventures with my daughter. Many thanks, Sincerely, Debbie & Avery Grace Webber

Congratulations! This book is adorable. My kids and I adore all of your books. They are so clever, sweet and a true pleasure to read. I really wish there were plush toys of Splat, Russell, Kitten, Seymour and Frankie. My kids would LOVE them. They are the cutest characters. My kids favorite line from the books is when Russell tries to use Frankie as a pillow and he "Hopped away.... hopping mad". We all crack up every time we get to that part. :)

Every time we read one of the books we discover something new. We were reading Russell and the Lost Treasure and my 3 year old noticed that Splat was hidden in the lost treasure. So, we went through the Splat books and noticed one of the kittens was holding a Russell stuffed animal. Such cute details in the illustrations.

Keep 'um coming! :)

when I read Splat the Cat for the first time, I was in a Barnes and Noble bookstore. I laughed so much I thought they were going to throw me out of the store. Splat is absolutely beautiful! Your illustrations are just magnificent and are of great inspiration for me as a budding children's illustrator.

Have a wonderful holiday and I will be purchasing more of your work.
