Hi Rob!
I work at a public library in Oklahoma City and I am new to "Russell". My daughters are 23, 21, and 16 years old. I didn't read to them as much as I should have when they were little and I felt bad about that sooooo... we have storytime at my house now. My middle daughter is Bethany and she adores Russell! We have Splat coming soon to our library. Thank you for these books!!! If Russell had not caught my eye while checking in books, I might not have
taken the chance to make storytime happen for them now, it's never to late, right?! They are some of my most treasured moments. Thank you again!!!

Hi Rob,

I am a Youth Services Manager at Hudson Area Public Library in rural Illinois. My daughter and I were in the bookstore the other day and I saw the book "Love Splat". We read it together and laughed out loud. I remember your "Russell the Sheep" books from my previous job as an elementary librarian. I am working on getting more of your books for our library. I love both your stories and pictures. My daughter is studying to be an elementary teacher and bought some books for her classroom. Thanks for the wonderful stories and great artwork. Keep up the good work.

Hello, hello.

I wanted to stop by and tell you how lovely your work is. I'm sure you get told a lot, but one more time can't hurt, eh?

I'm just finishing off my first book for Hodder and it's so exciting getting the chance to read about the adventures of a seasoned pro such as yourself. Not to mention, having such fab folk as Russell and Splat for inspiration. Thank ye kindly!

Hi Rob

Another bunch of Aussies popping in for a cuppa.

It seems like you have abandoned this blog (hopefully in favour of painting, which is just fine by us), but just in case you pop back to read the comments, here is the story of how we got here.

I have a 7 month old daughter who loves turning the pages when her father or I am reading "Russell The Sheep." She enjoys the crinkling sound of the paper and the different colours. I enjoy the technical excellence of the lush illustrations.

My husband enjoys it when Russell's hat goes ziggy-zaggy.

Anyway, today I brought out Russell and the Lost Treasure, and you should have seen my husband go nuts. The baby clearly wasn't in the mood for story time, trying to crawl away at every opportunity, but my husband didn't stop reading with enthusiastic abandon.

He thinks you are a genius, and I agree!

The baby, well, she's got a few more years to make up her mind. The Splat books still have a few too many words for her (she gets impatient looking at the same page for too long) but there's plenty of time for that later.

Cheers,

Thoraiya

Hi Rob! LOVE Splat! Love them all, but Splat was my daughters first "real" book and not just a board/picture book she was use to. She's 2 now and still loves Splat the Cat. Especially when Seymour hides behind the bottle and makes a scary face at the cats! I just saw the "Love Splat" book and can't wait to get it! Hope to see more Splat books in the future!
